I am the light of the world part 1
[37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it ]
We cannot claim to have an encounter with light and yet fails to shine it .likewise we cannot claim to have met with JESUS and be ashamed to tell people about him,
so any Christian that is ashamed of CHRIST is not worthy of him and has not have a true encounter with GOD
some of we Christians are fit to be called shadows Christians ,because our hearts is engulfed with the fear of what others would think and say . truly we might have given our lives to CHRIST , we might also be faithful to Church service but when relating to other people in the world ,we hide our personality as CHRISTIANS ,all because of the fear of what we think they will say or think when we talk to them about JESUS CHRIST. But the thing is when we fail to face our fear ,it will brings about limitations to how much we can be used by GOD and also fulfill GOD'S purpose.
Matthew 5 vs 14-15
[14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
GOD has called us a light of the world ,but a light cannot fulfill it purpose when it is hidden, a hidden light if not careful can be put off because light is valued and appreciated when its not hidden. ]
GOD has caused his light to shine upon us ,but it is left to us to shine that light that GOD has deposited in us .
There are alot of souls that are out there who needs to hear about JESUS CHRIST whereby GOD is counting on us, to reach them with the light of the True Gospel of CHRIST, but yet we have failed in this area because we lack the boldness and Courage to witness for CHRIST.
One thing we should know is that our home, community and society is what it is today because of us .
one of the ways to know the level and genuineness of our love for GOD and others is witnessing JESUS CHRIST ,
the determination to follow JESUS CHRIST means denying our self desire and will to follow JESUS CHRIST command and GOD'S will for our lives
we should no longer be concerned with what others will say but what GOD will say because others was not crucified for us, but it was only JESUS CHRIST that was crucified for me on the Cross .
So let take a step of faith to ask GOD for the boldness to speak the word of GOD to the world and also that the HOLY SPIRIT should help us to live a life of the word .
